BonFest 2019 Frequently Asked Questions
Festival Office: Kirrie Connections Building, 5 Bank Street Kirriemuir, DD8 4BE
Opening Hours: 10.00 -17.00 Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Wrist bands: Wrist bands can be collected from the Festival Office or Main Arena office in exchange for a valid ticket. We strongly advise collecting your band from the town festival office during the day, as this will speed up your entry into the main site each evening.
Town Venues: All venues except the Main Arena are free entry and do not require a ticket
Beer Tokens: There is a token bar in the main arena. Tokens can be purchased in the Festival Office or at the entrance in the Main Arena. There will also be a separate cash bar in the main arena.
Venue and Camping
Where is the Main Arena? East Muirhead Of Logie Farm, Kirriemuir DD8 5PU. Vehicular access off A928 Glamis Road.
When is the campsite open? The campsite opens at 11am on Friday 3rd May. Vehicular access off A928 Glamis Road.
Are there disabled facilities? Yes, we have disabled parking areas, disabled toilets and areas at front of stage for those with mobility issues.
Are dogs allowed in the campsite? No animals are permitted within the festival boundary
What time does the main arena open? Doors open at 18.00hrs each night.
Is there an age limit for the Main arena? Yes, children need be 12+ and accompanied by an adult
How far is the camping from the main arena? Very close, literally a 2-minute walk!
Is there car parking on site? Yes, the car park is located on the main arena site and is accessible via the A928 Glamis Road. Parking is free at the festival site for the weekend. A free shuttle bus service will run from the campsite to the town from noon till 8pm each day.
Is there food available in the arena? Yes, George from Alba Catering is located on site selling burgers in the evening and breakfasts for campers every morning. There will also be a pie stall serving a selection of hot pies.
Will there be a water supply for mobile vehicle toilets? Yes, there will be a supply of water for portable toilets on site.
Will there be a disposal area for toilet cassettes? Yes, an area will be provided on site for the emptying of portable toilets.
Will there be a Welfare tent for campers? Yes, a welfare tent with security will be available for campers.
Can I consume alcohol in the street? NO. There is a bylaw in Kirriemuir that prohibits alcohol consumption on the street. Please respect this law.
Are there public toilets? Yes. Public toilets are in Reform Street car park, opposite the town hall and in the Tannage Brae car park.
Which food options are available? There are several takeaways, cafes and restaurants in town. Also, look out for the Aussie BBQ at the Gairie Inn and the Kirriemuir Scout BBQ at the Bon statue on Saturday afternoon.
Are there Cash Machines? Yes, there are 3 in town, please see town map for locations.
Is there car parking in town? Parking in Kirriemuir is limited, and we would suggest all Bonfest goers use the free car park at the festival site and walk into town. Reform Street car park (DD8 4LE) has a maximum 2 hour limit. There will be an overflow car park available at J&D Wilkies at the bottom of Mary Well Brae. See map for details.

When does Long Way to the Top recreation begin? Saturday 4th starting from the town hall at 13.15pm with Back:N:Black.
How far is the main tent from Kirriemuir Town Centre? The arena is a 15 min walk via the A926 Forfar Road.
Is there transport from the Town to the main venue? Yes, public buses run from the town centre to the arena via the Forfar road. There will also be a freeshuttle bus service running from noon till 8pm. There are local taxis available Auto Cabs 07710 571726, K Kabs 01575 573744.
Is there transport from Dundee to Kirriemuir? Yes, the festival “Happy Bus” service runs all three days and leaves Premier Inn west at noon each day and pick up again at the Town hall at midnight each day, Tickets can be bought via www.bonfest.com/happybus There is also a public bus service https://bustimes.org/services/20-dundee-kirriemuir
When will the timetable for bands playing the pubs and Town Hall be available? These are available now at the Bonfest Facebook page and from www.bonfest.com
Is there merchandise available and where can I get it? Yes, festival merch will be available each day from the Festival Office, the Town Hall or Main Arena each night
